Ruby Text & Furigana Syntax

You can insert ruby annotations (furigana/romaji for kanji or custom phrasing) directly into your lyric lines using the format [text:ruby] without spaces:

When I see you smile, I can face the world
Oh [Oh:oh] you [you:yu] know I can do anything

Subbing & Rendering Tips

Hardsubbing: We recommend using FFmpeg, Handbrake, or MeGUI to hardsub videos. They use libass, which renders advanced karaoke formatting and ruby text without the bugs present in legacy vsfilter/textsub plugins.

Softsubbing & Video Sharing

For softsubs, combine video, subtitles, and fonts using MKVMerge. If sharing softsubbed videos without system-wide font installation, use a Softsub Pack script (self-extracting archive with temporary fontreg) to launch Media Player Classic Home Cinema (MPC-HC).

*Note: For YouTube uploads, hardsubbing is required as YouTube native player strips advanced subtitle formatting.
